(01) Context

Teckel Atlas is an independent French guide to the dachshund, live since 1 November 2026. It is our own site: we designed and coded it from scratch, with no template, to show the kind of work we deliver to clients.

(02) Challenge

A guide about a single breed has to be more useful than a generic directory: short answers, sourced figures, tools that actually help, and a pleasant read on a phone. It also has to load fast and stay readable for search engines and AI engines.

(03) Approach

Write the answer first, then the proof. Every page opens on the essentials, the figures come from a survey we ran ourselves, and the site is a hand-built static Astro project, fast by construction.

(04) Chapter

A guide that answers first

Teckel Atlas is an independent guide in French on the dachshund: varieties, price, budget, health, gifts and names, across 20 pages. Each page opens on a short answer, followed by the figures and their sources. The design runs long and bright, with Valentina, a long-haired dachshund, appearing as stickers throughout.

Tools and original data

Two interactive tools sit next to the guides: an annual budget calculator and a 2027 dog-name generator for the letter C. The price page rests on an original survey of puppy listings that we collected, rather than on recycled figures.

Built to be fast and readable by machines

The site is a hand-built static Astro project, with no template, in TypeScript and Tailwind CSS 4, hosted on Vercel with cookie-free Vercel Web Analytics. Structured data (Article, FAQPage, Dataset), a sitemap and an llms.txt file help search and AI engines read it. On 1 November 2026, Lighthouse on mobile scored 100/100/100/100 on four pages, with LCP between 0.9 and 1.5 s and CLS at 0.
