Petzle Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 1, 2026

Petzle is a cozy block puzzle game for iPhone, iPad and Android. This policy explains what data the game collects, why, and the choices you have. In short: there is no account, we never ask for your name or email, your scores stay on your device, and the game is free because it shows ads.

(1) Who we are

Petzle is published by Alexis Chân Gridel, sole trader (entrepreneur individuel) trading as Écrin Digital, France (SIREN 952 937 647), who is responsible for the data processing described here ("we", "us"). Full publisher details are in our Legal Notice.

Contact for anything related to your data: bonjour@ecrin.digital.

(2) The short version

  • No account. We never ask for your name, email address or phone number.
  • Your game stays on your device. Scores and settings are stored on your phone or tablet only.
  • Free with ads. Ads come from Google AdMob. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, they are personalized only if you agree.
  • Pseudonymous statistics. We use analytics and crash reports, not linked to your name, to improve the game.
  • We don't sell your data.

(3) Data stored on your device

Your best scores, your settings (sound, music, themes, notifications) and the counters that space out full-screen ads are stored locally on your device. We cannot see them. Uninstalling Petzle deletes them.

(4) Advertising (Google AdMob)

Petzle is free and shows ads through Google AdMob, an advertising service provided by Google: a banner while you play, an occasional full-screen ad after a game ends, and an optional video you can choose to watch to revive a game. Ads are limited to content suitable for a general audience.

To show and measure ads, limit how often you see them and prevent fraud, Google's advertising software in the app collects:

  • your IP address, used to estimate your general location;
  • ad interactions, such as ads shown, taps and videos watched;
  • app and device information, such as device model, operating system, language and app version, plus diagnostic data;
  • device identifiers: on Android, the advertising ID and the app set ID; on iPhone and iPad, the advertising identifier (IDFA) only if you allow tracking when Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt asks you.

Your consent. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, Petzle shows Google's consent message the first time you open the game. Ads are personalized only if you agree; otherwise you get non-personalized or limited ads. You can change your choice at any time in the game, under Settings, Privacy choices.

Device settings. On iPhone and iPad, you can allow or refuse tracking at any time in Settings, Privacy & Security, Tracking. On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device's Google or Privacy settings, under Ads.

Google uses this data as described in its Privacy Policy and in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

(5) Gameplay analytics (PostHog)

We use PostHog, with data hosted in the European Union, to understand how Petzle is played and to improve its difficulty and features. The app sends events such as game started, lines cleared, game over, sound muted, ad shown (with its estimated value) or revive accepted.

With these events, PostHog receives a random identifier created by the app, your device model, operating system, app version and language, and an approximate location (country and region) derived from your IP address. This data is not linked to your name or email.

(6) Crash reports (Sentry)

We use Sentry to receive crash reports and performance data (for example how long the app takes to start), with technical device information such as model, operating system and app version. We use it only to find and fix bugs.

(7) Notifications

If you allow notifications, Petzle can schedule gentle reminders to play. They are created and stored on your device: no personal data is sent to us to deliver them. You can turn them off in the game's settings or in your device settings at any time.

(8) In-app purchases

Petzle has no in-app purchases at launch. If we add some later, payments will be handled by Apple or Google, and we will update this policy before they become available.

(10) Who receives your data

Only the service providers named above: Google (advertising), PostHog (analytics) and Sentry (crash reports). PostHog and Sentry process data on our behalf. Google acts under its own terms for advertising. We don't sell your personal data. Under some US state laws, the use of advertising identifiers for personalized ads may count as "sharing": you can opt out by refusing personalized ads in the game or by limiting ad tracking in your device settings.

(11) How long we keep data

  • Data on your device: until you uninstall the game.
  • Analytics events: up to 12 months, then deleted.
  • Crash reports: up to 90 days, then deleted.
  • Advertising data: kept by Google according to its own policies.

(12) International transfers

PostHog stores our analytics data in the European Union. Google and Sentry may process data outside the EU, including in the United States. These transfers rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, or on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

(13) Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct or delete your data, receive a copy of it, object to or restrict its use, and withdraw your consent at any time. Write to bonjour@ecrin.digital. Because Petzle has no accounts, we only know your data through the random identifiers stored on your device. Tell us your device model and roughly when you played, and we will help as far as we can find it. Uninstalling the game removes everything stored on your device.

If you are in the EU, you can also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. In France, that is the CNIL (cnil.fr).

(14) Children

Petzle is a general-audience game for players aged 13 and over. It is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child under 13 has used Petzle, contact us and we will delete what we can.

(15) Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when Petzle changes, for example if we add purchases or new services. The date at the top always shows the current version.
